1) Tell us about the Pizzabaker concept?
Pizzabaker is a hugely successful fast casual delivery and collection Pizza Chain established in Norway in 2003. Now there are 180 shops worldwide including Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, China & Ireland. Our concept is based on a simple operation based in the heart of the community. Our fresh dough is made daily and all ingredients are freshly baked on the pizza. Our philosophy is about being ‘Big on taste, Great on price’.

2) How and when did you become involved with Pizzabaker?
I became involved with Pizzabaker in early 2019, prior to the official opening of the first Pizzabaker in Ireland which opened in Drogheda in May 2019.

3) What was your background prior to joining Pizzabaker?
Prior to joining Pizzabaker I spent over 30 years in the FMCG Industry most notably with Tesco & Sainsbury in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. It was a great opportunity for me to bring my FMCG and retail experience to a new business.

4) What are some of the advantages in being a Pizzabaker franchisee?
The fee structure is simple. There is one monthly franchise free with no other hidden costs. Your capital finance is for you to buy your equipment, your shop etc. Pizzabaker also provides great systems, training, marketing and support in addition to group purchasing power and new production innovation and development.

5) Who is your ideal franchisee?
Our ideal franchisee is someone with a strong drive to succeed in their own business, a passion for great customer service and experience in the hospitality business.

6) What are some of the great lessons you've learned in growing this franchise?
Pizzabaker has been so successful because they stay true to their vision and values. Keep it simple, have happy employees delivering a great customer experience and deliver a quality product at an affordable price. This is what we aim to achieve in Ireland.

7) Do have a mentor and is there someone you use for inspiration?
My mentor Is Gary Mills, Retail director for Morrisons who has been with me every step of my journey to help ensure I stay balanced… I get my inspiration from my father… he was always cool calm and methodical… he always steadied the ship when at sea with great advice on life and how to live it.

8) What advice do you have for someone looking to acquire a franchise?
Be honest, open, passionate and hard-working and your dreams can come through.

9) In your opinion why do you think that Pizzabaker would be a fantastic opportunity for someone?
Pizzabaker is a great cost - effective franchise with a quick setup time, it's a great opportunity for a passionate customer focused person.
