Leading pizza franchise, Papa John’s, has announced the opening of its second Swansea store.  Umar Malik, who opened his first Papa John’s in Swansea in November has now recruited a further 18 staff members to work at the new outlet.

“Everyone wants a piece of Papa John’s!” confirms Umar Malik.  “Our first store covered one half of Swansea but it soon became clear there was a demand for a second outlet to cover the other half of the city.  We were lucky to secure a great location on the new retail park close to Asda and were receiving calls from customers trying to place orders before we had even opened!

“My original goal was to open five franchised stores within the next two years, however, now it is possible we may have five open within a year!” continues Umar.  “The incentive scheme currently run by Papa John’s to help franchisees set up has been a great help.  We received deals on equipment and franchise fees, which frees-up a little working capital to spend on other things like marketing.  The recent Papa John’s TV advertising campaign has also provided a real boost to sales and so we are very excited about the future!”

Umar Malik first discovered his passion for pizza while studying for a Business degree.  He worked as a delivery driver for a rival firm and later discovered Papa John’s.  The concept of ‘Better Ingredients, Better Pizza’ impressed him from the outset.  He says: “I’ve never seen repeat business like it.  Our customers just keep coming back for more!”

Papa John’s is growing and is looking for other enthusiastic franchisees to become part of its success story and is currently offering incentives for new stores opening in Wales, The Midlands, North East, The North West and Scotland.
