My Best Friend was started by Jon and Clara Roff in early 2015 being borne from their desire to get out of the rat race and do something that they both felt passionate about. The business provides a caring, convenient and professional service to their clients’ best friend offering doggy day care, home boarding, house visits and pet sitting, plus pet transportation and dog walking.
As soon as they opened it was obvious that their high standard of service was in great demand and the business has gone from strength to strength with the model enabling them to recruit carer families and dog walkers to allow them to cope with their ever-increasing client base.
In
November 2015, they launched their franchise proposition and were
quickly approached by Melanie Hillier after one of their satisfied
customers told her about this great opportunity.
Melanie is an ideal fit to become a My Best Friend franchisee. As a child, she grew up with Beauty and Ben, her beloved Dobermans so had been around dogs from an early age. She spent most of her working life, almost 25 years, in the RAF initially as a medic and then as a Registered Nurse so of course has a very caring nature! During this time, she was lucky enough to spend 2 years in Cyprus where she volunteered to be a foster carer for the dog re-homing centre but ended up adopting two tiny abandoned Pointer puppies, Scooby and Dillon.
Melanie had always wanted to start her own business, and of course having always loved dogs, My Best Friend was an obvious choice!
