'Shift happens' and certainly we're all aware of living in ever changing times. Maid2Clean is one of the great success stories of the cleaning franchise sector in the UK, becoming the dominant UK cleaning brand with more than 140 franchised areas under its belt. So how did the business become such an incredible success in the world of franchising?

Managing Director Mike Hanraham explains that the last nine years wasn't the easiest of rides for those involved in franchising - reflecting wider difficulties in the economy and consumer markets. He knows that 'magic secrets' don't exist for success - the key is down to a strong and success business model, sheer hard work and determination to make sure that all franchisees within the network have the opportunity to develop and grow their own franchise business, with the best support and tools in the industry.

The company has been trading since 1993, when it first began offering agency cleaning services to domestic households in Cheshire. It now provides work for over 13,500 cleaners - with the figures even greater if you include franchisees engaged in Canada, Australia and Ireland.

So what are the brand's hopes for the future? Hanrahan explains that they are focusing on growing the base of UK & oversees franchisees, along with working to support their existing network to grow and develop their businesses. He explains that many years of work have been needed to ensure more franchisees exist in their sector, than competitors' sectors - and Maid2Clean plans to continue its quest for dominance, through a 'best in class' portfolio of branded services and products, and delivering first class service to both customers - and their franchisees.

FranchiseExpo believes that this franchise is one to watch and a perfect example of a good system for potential entrepreneurs looking to purchase a franchise. Maid2Clean follows great practice by working hard to support its existing franchisee network, as well as attracting new buyers into the franchise. It's also a great example of a low-cost business that people from all backgrounds and sectors can get involved in, and use to build their own successful business.
