The UK’s leading domiciliary and medical care franchise Kare Plus is proving so popular that they have just sold their first double territory management franchise, to physiotherapist Vijay Guntuka.

Vijay, a healthcare professional in the NHS, works within the community frequently visiting nursing and care homes, so he was more than aware of the growing demand for independent care providers and the potential for building a successful business in the sector.

Searching for a franchise that suited his needs, Vijay discovered Kare Plus. Although he investigated other healthcare service providers, he says Kare Plus stood out from the rest.

‘Kare Plus was exactly what I was looking for. They offer medical as well as domiciliary services, which is important to me, and I was really impressed by the support structure and experience of the management team. In short, I was convinced I wouldn’t find a better franchise opportunity.’

So convinced was Vijay that he has now invested in two franchise territories – Bradford and Scarborough – and says he has ambitious plans for future growth.

Rather than leave his career as a physiotherapist, Vijay has recruited a high flying management team for the day to day operation of both franchises from the outset, he expects to have established Kare Plus as the leading service provider in each area within a year and will be looking at investing in a third territory in due course.

"Vijay’s investment in two territories and the setting up of two dedicated management teams reflects his confidence in the Kare Plus brand and business model,” says Steve Welsh, Kare Plus Managing Director. “People working in the NHS can see exactly what the opportunities are in the sector and we anticipate many more health professionals will be quick to seize the chance to build a lucrative second income stream with Kare Plus.”

Vijay concludes, “As a healthcare professional, I love the idea that my business will be making a difference to patients’ lives and improving the standard of care in my region while making money for my future. It takes a really great franchise to illicit an immediate commitment to two locations, but I know I’ve made a great decision, and can’t wait to see the results.’

Vijay is the first to own a Kare Plus management franchise (or two!) , but with the projected growth of Kare Plus, it is evident he won’t be the last. Managing Director Steve Welsh is excited for the future of the franchise.

‘Within the next four years, we hope to be negotiating NHS contracts worth an estimated £140m. We also aim to develop our services to meet the increasing demand for health and particularly elderly care. We have already quadrupled our network within the last nine months and anticipate more than doubling it again by the end of 2013.”
