A former pub and hotelier has swapped pulling pints for cleaning ovens, as he embarks on a new business venture serving Tameside and surrounding areas.
Pat Kelly, from Glossop, has started out in business with oven valeting firm Ovenu, after spending more than 25 years as a sales representative for the likes of Carlsberg before running a pub/hotel in Congleton.
After sparking an interest in oven cleaning while working at the pub, Mr Kelly, 55, researched the market and came across Ovenu.
He said: “I first came across the idea of oven cleaning a few years ago while at the pub one day and after some initial interest, I pursued it. I've always enjoyed managing businesses and meeting new people, so the opportunity with Ovenu fit the bill and my vast experience in dealing with customers should put me in good stead.
“Cleaning the oven is one of those jobs that is always the last thing on peoples’ minds and there is certainly a demand for the service, so it was a no-brainer. I am now looking forward to building a good client base throughout Tameside and Glossop and can’t wait to get started.”
Ovenu Tameside provides an environmentally-friendly oven valeting service to homes and businesses throughout Tameside, including Glossop, Mossley and Saddleworth.
Rik Hellewell, Managing Director and Founder of Ovenu, said: “Pat has extensive experience in building relationships with customers, so I have no doubt that he will put this to good use in creating a thriving small business. I would like to welcome Pat to Ovenu and wish him all the very best.”
Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses owned by men and women working throughout the UK.
The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes around three to four hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
