Two entrepreneurs from Bristol have just launched their
award-winning baby swim programme in Australia. After five
years of phenomenal growth and success across the UK and with a
network of more than 40 licensees nationwide, co-founders Gaby
Lixton and Caroline Sparks have taken the plunge into new waters
with their latest overseas venture.
Headed up by British mum of three Rachel Hope, Turtle Tots
baby swim classes are set to be rolled out across Australia
initially commencing in the Bayside suburb of Sandringham,
Melbourne. Originally from Cardiff, Rachel moved to Melbourne with
her Australian husband in 2008.
Gaby Lixton spoke on the launch, “We’re over the moon to be
taking our popular baby swim programme to Australia. In that
territory, Turtle Tots as a business model is quite a unique and
progressive programme. Not many swim schools teach parents with
babies under six months of age in Melbourne, let alone Australia,
so we are going to be something of a novelty and a new experience
for the locals.”
Turtle Tots prides itself on preschool swim classes that are
structured, safe and friendly for all. Rachel’s background is in
corporate communications but she has always been sporty by nature
with a love of swimming, ballet, gymnastics and netball as a child.
Tennis is her passion at the moment and she is also a keen
runner so she hopes to inspire parents and children in Australia
with her energy and enthusiasm for getting active.
Gaby continued “I've known Rachel for many years so I'm
confident she will be a great asset to our brand and our ambitious
strategy for global growth. Turtle Tots is about building water
confidence in all children regardless of the country they live in,
and its also very much about creating a fun activity that can
create that extra special bonding time for parents and their
children, something we are very proud to be associated with.”
