Leading infection control company and franchisor, Bio-Rite, has invested £50K in a new state-of-the-art laundry facility at its head office facility in Alton, Hampshire. The installation of the resource, which has now been completed, features equipment supplied by JLA and will be used to provide decontamination services to the NHS and care homes.
“It is important for organisations like the NHS and care homes to be able to prove the efficiency of the decontamination of care equipment and items such as mattresses,” confirms Alan Wright, managing director, Bio-Rite. “Our new laundry service has been specifically designed with this in mind. A detailed record is kept of each procedure including temperature and the length of time care equipment is decontaminated for, this ensures full track and traceability on behalf of our clients.“
Equipment supplied by JLA includes a SMART Wash machine which combines industrial strength build quality with state-of-the-art digital intelligence,” explains Wright. “The washer management tool allows us to monitor and record all the machine’s vital statistics including wash temperature and cycle duration. This accurate, automatic digital traceability aids compliance with regulations such as CFPP01-04 and also demonstrate a ‘best practice’ approach in line with HACCP, environmental health and other guidelines.
“In addition, we have also extended our decontamination chamber so we can cope with growing workloads,” continues Wright. “Much of the assignments will come direct but we have also opened up the availability of the new laundry service as an option to our franchisees who may not have their own facility.”
As a group, Bio-Rite has 40 years’ experience in decontamination and infection prevention procedures and has recently launched as a franchise. Bio-Rite is a British Franchise Association (bfa) Provisional Member and is currently recruiting franchisees to offer its leading healthcare infection control services across the UK. “The threat from infections such as MRSA, C.Difficile or Norovirus, continue to be an ongoing challenge for the NHS, Local Authorities, care and nursing homes,” confirms Wright. “We hope the expansion of Bio-Rite’s services, through our network of franchisees across the UK, will make a significant impact on reducing infection within institutions where patients are most vulnerable.”
