The British Franchise Association (BFA) awards have now been announced.
-
Known as the biggest and most influential franchising event in the world, and amongst the finalists are two Razzamataz Theatre School franchisees! Hayley Limpkin and Helen bell are up for the prestigious two of the prestigious awards.
Limpkin, founding principal and now co-owner of Razzamataz Medway, is running for ‘Lifestyle Franchisee of the Year’, whilst Bell, Principal of Razzamataz Sheffield, is nominated for ‘Young franchisee of the Year’. Both candidates have just completed the interview stage for the awards, upon having been shortlisted by the esteemed panel of judges.
-
The awards are not easily up for grabs. Limpkin and Bell had to submit a detailed portfolio application, demonstrating their achievements over several years and highlighting how their school has flourished to above and beyond the franchisor’s initial expectations.
-
“We are so proud of our Principals for making it through to the finals of the BFA Awards. Their success is very much down to their wonderful teams and the support they both receive. Helen’s team at Sheffield have been amazing during her maternity leave and the team at Medway, especially co-owner Emily, has been a huge support to Hayley while her son was receiving medical treatment.”

The panel of expert judges consisted of Brain Smart QFP, Pip Wilkins QFP, Chief Executive, BFA, Andrew Brattesani, Head of Franchising, HSBC, Jane Masih, Director, Owen White Solicitors, Alan Wilkinson QFP, Head of UK Franchise Development, The Franchising Centre and Derrick Simpson, BFA Companion. Limpkin and Bell joined the other finalists to present their cases to the BFA judging panel.

“It was a really exciting day presenting to the BFA about the special community we have built over the last eight years at Medway. It really has been an incredible journey that has been made possible by our wonderful team of teachers, students, parents, staff and the constant support from our Razzamataz Head Office.”

Hayley Limpkin and Helen Bell have both worked so tirelessly over the years, they have managed to juggle family commitments and a successful business that suits their lifestyle; as explained to the judges.
-
“Razzamataz Sheffield performed at Disneyland Paris just five weeks after my son Harrison was born and I was able to be there with him cheering along our students and supporting Head Office as Stage Manager. I have the staff and set up in place now, so I don’t plan to go back full time anytime soon, but I can still enjoy financial freedom, which is really incredible.”

Winners are due to be announced this month at the BFA Annual Conference Black Tie event; 28th June, ICC Birmingham, where the winners will be named.
Some further congratulations to Denise Hutton-Gosney on being shortlisted at the EWIF annual awards. With a simple dream to make performing arts accessible to children, Denise has come a long way being shortlisted at the EWIF Finals for ‘Woman Franchisor of the Year’.
