Whilst the year-long celebrations to mark Driver Hire’s 30th anniversary may be winding down, there’s no let-up in the leading franchisor’s business performance. The first week in September saw its 100-office network smash Driver Hire’s best ever week’s trading. And that means ‘best ever’ – not this year or last year – but in the past 30 years. Overall Driver Hire’s revenue touched £2.01m during the week commencing September 1st.
Amongst the many franchisees currently enjoying buoyant trading is Driver Hire Ashford. They recently received an award for reaching record turnover levels and are continuing this outstanding performance. Its owner is Andrew Padgett. “Currently on turnover we’re 50% ahead, year to date,” says Andrew. “Our continued success is down to a number of factors. First and foremost, a generally improving economy which means existing customers are using more of our drivers. However, I also feel that a number of customers are still reluctant to recruit and prefer the flexibility of using our temporary staff. We’re also getting a steady flow of new customers and lapsed customers who have started using us again.”
Commenting on Driver Hire’s new record, Chief Executive Chris Chidley said: “It is especially pleasing to see that franchisees have been able to recruit and use drivers to fulfil the increased demand. Some initial analysis suggests that there were 400 more drivers out working for Driver Hire last week than in 2013. We’re continuing to attract new business whilst retaining our existing loyal customer base, which speaks volumes about the quality and value of the Driver Hire business model.
