Why Oscar?
We're a family business that started life making good, honest, pet food for working dogs and supermarkets. It was a fantastic start with formulations for Sainsbury's and Linda McCartney. However, we found that customers had little guidance on what to feed their pets. Choosing the right food was a minefield and the level of service seemed non-existent. Getting it right was so important because, just like humans, pets 'are what they eat'.
We have always believed that when it comes to nutrition, it's too important to settle for second best. In 1993, we took matters into our own hands and the first Oscar franchise was established. The complete pet care service was born and since then Oscar has kept a firm focus on the developments in pet food manufacturing, while devoting time to its growing franchise network.

I took on my business opportunity appreciating that you only get back exactly what you put in. My attraction to franchising came from existing franchisees and the franchisor, only after attending exhibitions and reading loads of magazines.
